Summer Singing Workshop June 14th 2025
On Saturday 14th June Stour Choral Society hosted a ‘Summer Singing Workshop’ at Acorn Village, led by Susie Rose. It was a happy, uplifting day attended by close to 60 people. They rehearsed the 3-part ‘Gloria’ by Vivaldi, ‘Pie Jesu’ from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Requiem, and ‘The Sound of Music’ and ‘Climb every Mountain’ from ‘The Sound of Music’ (Rodger’s and Hammerstein) They also learned a little about the physiology of singing, some breathing exercises, and picked up some performance tips, which no doubt helped them to deliver a rousing and heartfelt performance at the end of the day.
Many thanks to Susie for her excellent tuition, to Roy, the Pianist who stepped in for Stephen at the last minute, to Anna Maria Rose who kindly helped with the teaching, to The SCS committee and helpers for organising a wonderful enjoyable day, and not least to the people who came and sang so beautifully.
